About RSR Legacy Dog Rescue

A safe place to begin again.

Our mission

Rescue. Support. Rehome. RSR Legacy Dog Rescue is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation and IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity based in Poway. We are building a foster network to help dogs find safety, receive care, and move into lasting homes.

Who we help

We welcome dogs of all breeds, mixes, ages, and sizes when we have a safe foster placement and resources to meet their needs. Our special focus includes mothers and puppies, large and overlooked breeds, and dogs facing urgent shelter deadlines.

Our beginning

Founder Kristle Marshall began RSR Legacy after volunteering and fostering with Rescue Fenix. Working alongside Lori and seeing how one safe home can change a dog’s life inspired a rescue rooted in family, community, and compassion. Our English Mastiff emblem honors Luna, whose story helped inspire the mission.

How we operate

We are a growing, foster-based rescue serving San Diego County and Southern California. Dogs receive care in foster homes rather than at a public walk-in shelter. Our ability to accept a dog depends on available homes, funding, and the care the dog needs.
